The Peace Culture Foundation conducted a child sexual abuse prevention workshop titled “Stop Grooming” in the form of a mask theatre performance for Grade 4-6 students on November 12 at Wat Sriphingmuang Municipal School and November 13 at Wat Pha Paeng Municipal School.
This initiative was supported by Rotary District 3360 and the Rotary Club of Chiang Mai Thin Thai Ngam, with coordination assistance from the Chiang Mai Provincial Office of Social Development and Human Security.
The sessions were facilitated by youth trainers from Kowitthamrong Chiang Mai School and Sacred Heart College Chiang Mai, who had previously completed the Train-the-Trainer program under the Peace Culture Foundation.
The performance design, script, and learning process were developed by the Peace Culture Foundation.
Given the increasing number of younger victims of sexual violence in recent years, understanding “grooming” and its 7-step process must begin early to help prevent abuse before it occurs. (Learn more at: https://www.peaceculturefoundation.org/grooming-prevention-)
The project aims to ensure that all children and young people receive proper protection, feel empowered to seek help from trusted adults, and contribute to building a truly safe society.
